                      A Rivers State High Court has commenced hearing on the case of alleged murder of four students of the University of Port Harcourt, which occurred on October 5, 2012, in Omuokiri, Aluu community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state. This is even as the first accused person, Lawal Segun, has admitted his statement contained in the police report, though saying that he made it under duress. The victims were Ugonna Obuzor, Lloyd Toku Mike, Tekenah Elkanah and Chiadika Biringa. Segun is among the 12 persons standing trial in the case, and among the eight persons facing a murder charge. The other seven persons facing the same charge with him are  former police Sergeant Lucky Orji, Ikechukwu Louis Amadi (aka Kapoon), David Chinasa Ogbada, Abiodun Yusuf, Joshua Ekpe, Abang Cyril and John Ayuwa. Nigerian Idol gets 3 new judges for its 4th season.Yesterday Wednesday 26th February 2014, Afro-beat legend Dede Mabiaku,Nigerian-German singer Nneka and R&B singer Darey Art-Alade, were unveiled as new judges for the singing reality TV show at the Rhapsody Lounge, Victoria Island, LagosThey are replacing Femi Kuti, Yinka Davies and Jeffrey Daniel. Yinka and Jeffrey were judges since the first season. Femi Kuti came on board in Season 2 taking over from Audu Maikori.IllRymz will be returning as the host of the show. Gov. Babatunde Raji Fashola today, 27 th  of February, 2014 renamed a hall initially named after him, in memory of slain Yobe students killed by members of Boko Haram sect Tuesday morning. While commissioning  the hall  at Fadeyi, Fashola thanked the Lagos Zonal Council of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas  Workers, NUPENG for naming the hall after him, but said he will like to rename it after the slain secondary school students. “I appreciate NUPENG’s gesture but I will rename this edifice `Peace Hall`,  in memory of the lives of the children that were brutally slain in Yobe by insurgents’’he said. May their souls rest in peace.
